First phase I and II clinical trials in humans

Once the microbubbles have been successfully approved for use in humans, we will conduct phase I clinical trials to test their safety and feasibility. The microbubbles are tested on healthy volunteers in order to identify side effects. At the same time, we determine the optimal concentrations of microbubbles for further studies. The subsequent clinical studies in Erlangen and Aachen will investigate whether the microbubbles and ultrasound can be used to detect active Crohn's disease and whether the success of the anti-inflammatory therapy can be measured.
